Set amidst the bustle of Brixton Village Market, Brixi is a treasure trove of lovingly curated oddities old and new. Born from a love of trawling junk shops and fusty museums, Brixi has at its heart a love of beautifully made objects. Best described by a customer as ‘...like a museum where you can touch stuff...’. Purpose and practicality stand no chance in this shop - beauty always wins out!
Opened by Emy Gray in 2011, the shop has grown and evolved, taking on its own identity. Showcasing and supporting local makers, recent graduates and emerging artists is at Brixi’s core. You will be sure to always find something you’ve never seen before. Collaborations with artists, hunting trips to foreign lands and a sense of mischief keep the shop in a constant state of flux.
Brixi is not just a shop – the space also operates as a gallery with rolling exhibitions (quarterly showcases), a venue for events (i.e. readings, book launches etc.) and hands-on workshops. Keep checking back for information of what’s on.
Selected stock is available to hire for photographic shoots. Objects and artefacts (within reason!) can be sourced to meet specific requirements – please get in touch and we’ll see what we can do to assist!
